Suspended Animation

It’s amazing the difference one song can make. I’ve had some bad ones stuck in my head the past few days, but “Jesus of Suburbia” is taking care of that. True, it’s one of my favorite songs in the world, but even without that bias it’s incredible. I literally can’t remember what song was driving me crazy before. That’s the beauty of a really good song. It can enthrall you so much that you forget everything else to focus on the music. For just a few minutes, the music becomes your world.

Finding that moment can be hard, though. There are days when I go through song after song in my library trying to find something to get lost in. If I do, it always happens when I’m least expecting it. Still, that zen-like moment is one of my favorite things about listening to music, and one of the things that makes me never want to be too far from a stereo. It’s addictive. Happy listening.
