The Good Stuff

The radio is full of songs that are both stupid and dipped in superglue.  Once they get in, it is damn near impossible to get them out of your head.  For this wonderful achievement they get nominated for a Grammy.  I ask you.

The only way to survive is to get regular doses of antidote.  One of those is coming out on January 18.  It’s Social Distortion’s new album Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes.  The first single, “Machine Gun Blues,” sounds like this:

 

I love the signature heavy, distorted guitar with bright flourishes.  I  love that it reminds me of driving through nowhere Arizona just inches from the sun.  And there are only 10 days to go.
