All Smiles
January 10, 2009This is too awesome. My Chemical Romance’s website has undergone a complete overhaul, and it’s great. Under the band’s name at the top left hand corner it says “are most likely at Disneyworld”. “Discography” and “Tour” are scratched out from the menu, since they’re on hiatus.
They’re also on twitter, and have started a blog. It’s fun to see them talking about charity causes, playing video games, and the scary similarities between Javier Bardem and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Check out the pictures Ray posted. But for the nose, they could be the same person.
I’m thrilled. I typed in the site expecting to see things still centered around The Black Parade. I figured all that would serve as a placeholder during their break because hey, it was a phenomenal album. Instead I found something totally new, and I like it. It was a bit like the moment at their concert last May when Gerard told everybody to get out their cellphones to wave for “Sleep”. While we were all digging around he reached in his pocket and said, “Here, I’ll get mine too”. I was charmed. He had been running around on stage the whole set with a cellphone in his pocket. How normal.
Things like that and the new website close the distance a little bit. They make you realize that when rock stars say they’re just regular people, it’s true. They are.
It’s comforting somehow. Yes, I know, I am a total squeaking fangirl. I never claimed to have much dignity.
